The project for the new agrivoltaic plant in the municipality of Ferrara was designed to combine renewable energy production with continued agricultural activities. Located on agricultural land near the Mizzana industrial area, the solar park will have a peak power of 3.2 MWp.

It will consist of 4,950 high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon modules, arranged over an area of approximately 5.1 hectares. To maximize energy production, the modules will be installed on a single-axis tracking structure, which will orient them during the day to follow the sun’s path from east to west.
The construction of the plant stands out for its minimal environmental and landscape impact. The support structures will be anchored to the ground with steel poles, making the intervention completely reversible.
Furthermore, a hedge with native shrub species will be planted along the perimeter to help the structure blend into the landscape. To minimize light pollution and avoid disturbing nocturnal fauna, site lighting will only be activated for emergencies or extraordinary maintenance.
This project represents a significant step forward in the energy transition, contributing substantially to the fight against climate change. It is estimated to produce about 5 GWh annually, which will result in a saving of over 3,400 tons of CO₂ every year. This environmental benefit is comparable to the carbon dioxide absorption capacity of a large forested area of approximately 545.6 hectares. The plant will not produce atmospheric pollutants, offering a clean and efficient alternative to traditional energy production methods.
